Meet Breanna and Ryan! These two kicked off my 2019 wedding season and were an absolute joy to work with! Originally their date was later in the year, but a surprise bundle of joy changed up the timeline! This couple is fun loving and young hearted. They love Disney, (bonus points) and enjoy spontaneous date nights! Ryan proposed to Breanna on top of Mt. Washington surrounded by her whole family! When I asked them if they could think of a song that would best represent their relationship, Breanna said, "You've Got a Friend In Me" was it! What better foundation to build a marriage on than deep friendship?
I shot their engagement photos around downtown Oakland in October and I knew we were going to get along great from that point on.
Since the wedding, Breanna and I have stayed in touch, and I get lots of hang time with her adorable son Odin. It's so fun watching him grow! I'm so blessed to have clients that turn into real friends!
I asked Breanna a few questions after her wedding to gain some insight into her thoughts looking back. Every bride's experience is unique, though in many ways also the same, and I love seeing the things that stand out most to each person during the process! Future brides take note, there an answer in here that's just for you! Keep scrolling to see my favorites from their big day!
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
The best part of planning my wedding was brainstorming and putting together centerpiece ideas with my mom!
Why did you choose Kayla Bri Photography to photograph your wedding?
Kayla’s pictures have so much character! Every picture is soft and romantic, but shows the true personality and love between the couple!! Going with Kayla Bri was a no brainer for me!
What was the driving force in the planning process?
At first it was time of year we wanted! Then we were blessed with an amazing gift from god (our son) and quickly rearranged to get married sooner! BEST DECISION EVER
What special/sentimental details did you include in your day?
It was very important to us to participate in communion on our wedding day! We also decided to present our mothers with a rose at the ceremony! We were blessed with a beautiful surprise performance from my sisters in law (yes many tears). We also wanted to include father/daughter and mother/son dances that invited all of our guests to join the floor and share such a special moment with us!
What is one moment or memory from the day that stands out in your mind?
One?! Oh how do I choose!!! One of my favorite memories was moments before walking down the aisle my father and I joking about running away and going to get pie!
How did you ask your bridal party to be in your wedding?
Each of my girls and I went on a special outing where I presented them with a gift bag including: Personalized tumbler, candle, candy, bottle of wine, a necklace, and a personalized note about how much they mean to me!
Would you do anything differently looking back?
Looking back I would probably of not been expecting for my wedding! But who says you need drinks to have fun with the ones you love!
Any advice to future brides?
The biggest thing I would tell future brides is to not do everything alone or to freak out trying to get every detail right! Honestly loves, no one is going to notice the small details that drove you over the edge! Breathe!!
How has you and your spouse's relationship changed for the better since becoming husband and wife?
Since becoming husband and wife we have officially added a beautiful boy to our family, and nothing is better than that!
