Grace & Justin Say I Do at The Atrium

Grace & Justin's Wedding At The Atrium

Photographing weddings is my passion and it’s something that will always excite and fuel me! And when I get to revisit personal memories in the process of doing my job, I feel incredibly lucky. That's something I got to experience recently while working with Grace and Justin. My couple had a gorgeous wedding at The Atrium, and we did the first look at Geneva College, where they met each other as students. The thing is, Geneva College is also my alma mater, so their wedding day was also a pleasant ‘walk down memory lane’ kind of a day for me.

I am a big fan of first looks - as a witness and a photographer. And these moments get even better when my couples add a unique twist to them. Grace and Justin's first look on Geneva's campus was very special to them and also a fun and nostalgic experience for me. Their proposal story was also so unique. Justin proposed to Grace at the exact location where her dad once took her and prayed with her for her future husband. I found this to be such a romantic and thoughtful gesture by Justin.

When I began photographing Grace and Justin's wedding, I instantly knew that it would be one of those workdays that don't feel like work at all. Grace's first look for her bridesmaids was so lovely. I adored the way the girls reacted to seeing her dressed as a bride! Next was the first look with the father of the bride. For me, this was one of the most precious moments of the day. I love seeing the look on every dad's face when they get to see their daughter, all grown up and ready to start a new journey. I always anticipate these moments to be filled with emotions, and therefore, my camera is always ready!

After taking some family photos of my bride and groom, it was time for the first look at the Geneva College campus. Justin was so happy to see his bride, and he couldn't stop smiling! Grace and Justin had a sweet ceremony, and then all of us moved to the reception venue. From the stationery and florals to the cake, my couple planned and organized everything to perfection. Later, while the guests shook a leg on the dance floor, I sneaked my couple out for some couple portraits. I love having these few moments alone with my couple. It gives me the chance to take some stunning pictures and also capture that golden hour glow. Grace and Justin exited the venue in style with a stellar sparkler exit. This is one of my favorite ways to photograph my couple. The lighting, the vibe, the energy - it's all perfect!
