Maria And Steve’s Wedding At The Grand Resort

Maria And Steve’s Wedding At The Grand Resort

Documenting some weddings feels like flipping through the pages of their love story - and Maria and Steve’s wedding exuded the same dreamy vibes. The couple got married at The Grand Resort in Warrendale, Ohio. And as the day progressed, I was in absolute awe of the couple’s love for each other and the way they brought this beautiful wedding to life. The bridesmaids and the groomsmen were equally awestruck and excited! And so were the guests and the kiddos! Just the perfect cocktail of things for a fun wedding party!

Maria And Steve’s Story

I’m all for a good old love story, and when I asked Maria and Steve to share theirs, I had no idea I was in for a treat! Maria shared, “Steve and I met through mutual friends! After college, like most 20-somethings, we would frequent East Carson Street on the weekends for a good time! Our friend groups met up, and we instantly took a liking toward one another - although, it may have taken a while to make things official! It’s a running joke that during one of the first nights we met, Steve proposed to me with a shot of whiskey. I will admit, I said yes at that time, and little did I know the foreshadowing that just occurred! I will say yes to Steve a million times over… whiskey shots… not so much!” Maria and Steve, that’s one adorable story!

Wait a minute - there’s more coming! Gushing over the proposal, Maria continued, “It was Steve’s 28th birthday weekend! I was throwing him a Beer Exchange party at our place with 40 of our closest friends and family! He suggested taking our friends to the Strip for a nice breakfast at Cafe Raymond. After breakfast, he told me, his mom texted him. She and his nephews from Cleveland were at the incline, and she apparently insisted we stop by for a picture! And so we headed up to Mt. Washington, and I pointed out the most perfect overlook on a cloudless day! We snapped a picture of our friends, switched hands on the camera, and BOOM! Steve was down on one knee!!!”

“The best part - since all of our friends and family were coming over for Steve’s ‘birthday’ party, we got to share our big news with them in person! It worked out great as we pretty much hosted our own engagement party. Seriously the best weekend of our lives!” Wow! Now that’s some fireworks! Talk about planning done right!

Maria And Steve’s Wedding At The Grand Resort

Maria and Steve hosted their wedding celebrations at The Grand Resort in Warrendale, OH. The 3-star resort hotel had a perfect blend of gorgeous open spaces and luxuriously designed interiors. And it was a perfectly lit day at the couple’s wedding, therefore, giving the best of both spaces. As a wedding photographer with an eye for detail, I am always curating unique frames that would accentuate the minute details in the best possible way. And the fun just doubles whenever the couple has thought everything through - just like Maria and Steve. So the day started with a sweet exchange of customized gifts such as the tie with a printed message underneath. One of my favorite detail shots was photographing the rings criss-crossed over the wedding invitation.

A heartfelt moment that I absolutely adored capturing on my camera was when the bride made the first appearance in front of the bridesmaid and her dad - the reactions I photographed were priceless. Another such scene was when Maria’s dad held the huge train of her dress as she walked towards the car to leave for the venue. What a heart-warming moment! Pivoting from cute to classy - Maria and Steve posing against the maroonish vintage car made heads turn in awe. The couple said “I do” in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their friends and family. And before making their way to the reception, the bridesmaids and groomsmen took them over and literally lifted them up for some totally fun poses.

As I entered the reception area to grab some decor details, I was stunned! There were champagne glasses lined up on the welcome table, the dinner table was beautifully decorated with a bouquet of white flowers, and the cake itself looked no less than a floral dream in white. Every detail was meticulously thought out! As the band took over the reception, dance floor action soon followed. Maria looked like a princess every time Steve gave her a twirl.

About sunset, when the party was coming to a close, I stole the couple from the guests for a few moments and took them by a lake outside for some couples portraits. And my, oh my! Little did I know at the moment that these last few minutes of the day will end up in some stellar images - some of the best of the day! The expanse of green surrounding the couple, the reflection of the newly-weds on the lake, and the dramatic sky - what a perfect way to end the day!
