Rachel & Jonathan's Wedding at Irons Mill Farmstead
Couples spend so much time searching for the right kind of decor for their wedding. Some look for something that matches their theme, while others go for decor that reflects some parts of their personalities. And then there are those who create their own decor! Rachel and Jonathan did something similar when they put together all the flowers for their wedding themselves and wowed their guests and me. This couple was truly talented, and I realized that when their DJ, Texas Pete, shared their love story to music that they had written about their journey together. As I photographed this wedding, I just fell in love with the way Rachel and Jonathan loved each other.

I found Rachel and Jonathan to be two of the most caring and generous people I've ever met in my life. They have been together for 12 years, and they have four beautiful (and adorable!) kids together. Their story is one of commitment, love, and perseverance. And for me, that's what makes couples shine!
Rachel and Jonathan chose the stunning Irons Mill Farmstead that offered some amazing rustic backdrops for wedding photos. As beautiful as it was outside, it kept raining the entire day, so we had to stay indoors almost all day. The best part was that the rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits - neither my couple’s nor their guests’. Everyone still decided that they were going to have fun and party!
Rachel and Jonathan's wedding was all about family. The photos of Jonathan dancing with his little girls melt my heart! It was without a doubt one of my favorite moments from the wedding. Both my bride and groom were surrounded and supported by the most incredible wedding party, so of course, taking their photos with them was a total blast. Everyone was so warm and welcoming.
After a sweet and simple ceremony, I took family formals and then some romantic couple portraits of the newlyweds. Rachel and Jonathan were so natural in front of the camera, and they just couldn’t stop looking into each other's eyes. I was super impressed with how both of them were game when I suggested that we sneak out in the rain for some photos. And with the help of a couple of umbrellas and some shade, I was able to get such romantic pictures of my couple in the rain. If the rain can't dampen my couple's spirits, I certainly couldn't let it dampen my plans to document their romance!
